Boxing Day Racing – Visitor Information
We look forward to welcoming you to our Boxing Day Raceday on Tuesday. Tickets are still available for purchase here. Below is some helpful information ahead of the festive event.
Event Timings
Gates open at 10.00am
The first race will be at 11:57am, with the last race at 3:27pm (pending any divisions).
Travel
This will be an extremely busy event and we encourage visitors to leave plenty of time to get to the racecourse. You should consider travel arrangements ahead of time and check local public transport timetables and taxi services before departing. Trains will not be in operation due to the Bank Holiday.
There will be a free shuttle bus in operation to and from Orminton Six Villages Academy, Lime Avenue, Westergate, PO20 3UE and the racecourse. The shuttle bus will be operating from 9:30am until 5:00pm. Orminton Six Villages Academy has 100 car parking spaces available and will operate on a first come first served basis.
Parking
Due to the recent weather conditions, the car park on site has been impacted. We strongly suggest car sharing where possible or walking to the racecourse if you can, to reduce further impact.
Before Arriving
We kindly ask that those with pre-ordered tickets have them ready to scan on arrival, to help the flow of visitors coming into the racecourse.
Weather
Please check the local forecast before departing and dress accordingly. Whilst the days leading up to Boxing Day are dry, there is forecast some rain on the day. We strongly suggest you wrap up warm, wear appropriate footwear.
Security
We take security and safety very seriously. There will be a strong security presence and you will be subject to a bag search on arrival.
We ask all visitors not to leave their bags unattended and to report anything suspicious to a member of staff.
Entertainment
We’ve got some great entertainment lined up throughout the raceday including illusive mirror people, nutcracker stilt people, and of course live music from local musician, Nigel Smith.
