Fontwell Park Racecourse has announced the launch of a new middle distance chase series over 2m1f165y – 2m5f135y for the 2024/25 Jump racing season.
The eleven-race series will include ten qualifiers run as Class 4 and 5 races with the opening contest taking place on Tuesday 24th September 2024 and culminating with a £40,000 open handicap final on Friday 28th March 2025. All horses that finish in the first eight in any qualifying race will be eligible to enter the final.
Fontwell Park, who are currently celebrating their centenary year having hosted their first fixture back in 1924.
Fontwell’s Clerk of the Course, Philip Hide, said:
“We are delighted to announce this new Chase series aimed at the grass roots of the sport, with a final pot worth £40,000. This series will provide a decent target for trainers to aim at with horses that we hope to see regularly throughout the season and underlines our commitment to our much-valued participants.”
